Children's Museum
The Museum has hands on exhibits for children aged two through twelve. Some of the exhibits include authentic 70,000 year old fossils of mammoths, saber tooth cats, and other animals that lived in our area, and learn how paleontologists excavate fossil by digging in the special paleontology dig box. Games and crafts from the Chukchansi Tribal Council, a magnet table, a gravity wall, and other exciting and educational displays. There is a small admission fee. Call Museum for hours of operation.

Ahwahnee
Home to the Miwok Indians, the name Ahwahnee means "beautiful valley" in their native language. Local Miwok tribes continue spiritual traditions to observe births, celebrate harvests and mourn the dead at Wassama Roundhouses. One of only two or three authentic ceremonial Indian Roundhouses surviving in the entire State of California. The grounds include picnic areas, old Indian grinding stones and other Indian artifacts. There is a .75-cent admission fee. Children under 12 are free. Open daily from 11am - 4pm. Guided tours available by appointment for 75 cents per person. (559) 683-3631
Gold Gulch Mining Museum
A visit to the Gold Gulch Mining Museum will give you a feel for the California gold rush. The Museum strives to keep the legacy and spirits of the “49ers" alive. Today the Gold Gulch Museum "old town" includes the Dead Horse Saloon, a blacksmith shop, buggy rental, assay and claims office, a mineshaft and sluicing areas.
